Magento performance had been a long term issue for Urban Rider; speed improvements were required and the codebase was in desperate need of housekeeping from legacy development. Resolving these issues caused by previous custom development; we produced a new mobile responsive frontend theme before introducing a multi-store setup designed for international ecommerce.
From a design and build perspective, improved representation of video content throughout was also needed. The business was frustrated with the lack of consistent typography across the website caused by years of stylesheet development from various parties.
The shopping basket and website checkout also featured several bugs resulting in lost conversions. A rebuild and new onestep checkout was required.
Future plans to include international stores needed to be met and it was ultimately important the website catered for the increasing number of mobile and tablet users while focusing on simple navigation and a one page checkout.
